Many cities designate a week where local restaurants have fixed-price, special menus with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. But Houston wasn’t satisfied with just one week. They say everything is bigger in Texas, and Houston Restaurant Weeks lives up to that challenge! From August 1st through September 3rd, you can dine out and know that a portion of your bill will go to the Houston Food Bank.

Participating restaurants are located in Harris, Galveston, and Montgomery counties, including many in The Woodlands area. Depending on which restaurant you choose, you’ll be able to enjoy a 2-3 course brunch or lunch for a fixed-price of $20. $3 of that will be donated, which generates 9 meals. Dinners are 3-4 courses, depending on the restaurant. $35 dinners result in a $5 donation that provides 15 meals, and the $45 dinners generate 21 meals from the $7 donation.

This event is a fun way for you to try new restaurants while giving back to the community. The Houston Food Bank is America’s largest food bank. It acts as a clearinghouse to collect and distribute food for three partner food banks: Brazos Valley, Galveston County, and Montgomery County. So, your dollars go to purchase food for residents all over Southeast Texas.
